About Monique Smith
With 14 years of experience in the mortgage industry, Monique Smith is a Loan Officer with GMFS Mortgage who is passionate about helping clients navigate the path to homeownership. Born and raised in Youngsville, she has a strong connection to the community and enjoys helping local families reach their homeownership goals.
One of the most rewarding parts of her job is seeing a first-time homebuyer’s face light up when they realize they’re actually buying their first home. She understands that financing a home can come with plenty of questions and fears, and she takes the time to listen, explain the process, and help clients feel confident every step of the way.
Her willingness to listen and meet clients where they are is a big part of her approach. Whether someone is a first-time buyer, a longtime Louisiana resident, or relocating to South Louisiana for a new opportunity, she is ready to help make the transition to homeownership as smooth as possible. With the growth of the region and companies like SpaceX bringing new opportunities and people to Acadiana, she is excited to help those relocating to the area find their place in the community and their next home.
She is a member of the Louisiana Mortgage Bankers Association (LMBA), Acadiana Mortgage Lenders Association (AMLA), and Youngsville Chamber of Commerce.
Outside of work, she is an avid reader who admits to reading an “obscene” number of books—and has a serious addiction to drive-through car washes. She describes herself as an “introverted extrovert,” which perfectly captures her ability to connect with people while bringing a thoughtful and genuine approach to every relationship.
