2025 Scotsman Guide Top U.S. Originators Rankings:
Mimi Mire serves as Director of Builder Joint Ventures at GMFS Mortgage. She joined GMFS in 2014 and spent twelve years as a producing Branch Manager of the company’s Lafayette branch before stepping into her current role, where she now focuses on building and leading builder joint venture partnerships. She entered the mortgage industry in 1993 and has spent more than three decades building a career grounded in relationships, trust, and a genuine love for the work.
Her specialty is new construction. There is nothing she enjoys more than walking alongside clients from a raw piece of land to the day they turn the key on the home they dreamed about. That process — the vision, the patience, the payoff — is what still energizes her after thirty years.
For Mimi, mortgage lending isn’t a job; it’s a way of life. She surrounds herself with like-minded people, partners with those who share her core values, and counts the friendships the Lord has placed in her path among her greatest blessings. She believes we are only as good as the families we serve and the experience they have with us.
That philosophy shows in the results. For the past five years, Mimi has ranked in the top 10% of originators nationally and has been recognized by Scotsman Guide as one of the top women originators in the country. At GMFS, she has earned Top Producer and Chairman’s Club honors for 10 consecutive years. But the milestone she is proudest of isn’t her own: it’s watching the people who worked beside her for years take the skills they learned and become top producers.
Mimi’s commitment to the industry extends well beyond her own pipeline. She served as President of both the Louisiana Mortgage Lenders Association and the Acadiana Mortgage Lenders Association and sat on the board of directors of both organizations for more than a decade. Today she serves as a Board Director for the Acadiana Home Builders Association, an Executive Board Director for the Louisiana Home Builders Association, AHBA Build PAC Chair, Trustee for Louisiana Build PAC, and Alternate Trustee for Louisiana with the National Association of Home Builders.
Closer to home, she is a sponsor of Cajun Heat Baseball, a member of the Krewe of Victoria, a parishioner of St. Pius X, and a supporter of the Cursillo Center.
Originally from the small community of Lewisburg, Louisiana — about ten miles west of Church Point — Mimi is Cajun through and through. You’ll find her anywhere there’s Zydeco music, because dancing and Cajun culture are in her blood. She loves to travel, holds a particular affection for Portugal, and, to the surprise of many, is an avid scuba diver who spends most of her time off in Mexico.
She is grateful for her family and their unwavering support, for the team that works alongside her, and for the clients who have trusted her with their mortgages for so many years. Without them, she says, she would not be where she is today. She is grateful, too, for the mortgage industry itself and the life it has provided her family.
Anyone who works with Mimi hears the same words most mornings: “This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
