GMFS Mortgage Partners for Hurricane Florence Relief

GMFS Mortgage is partnering with Christ’s Community Church of Denham Springs and Emerge Ministries out of Beulaville, North Carolina to bring items and donations to those impacted flooding from Hurricane Florence.

The scene in the Carolinas as of today is very similar to that of much of Southeast Louisiana after the Great Flood of 2016. Some homes are holding a couple inches of water while others are flooded to the roofs. As of today, rescues are still taking place and some shelters have even had to relocate evacuees. Statistics are changing constantly, but as we got an update Sunday morning with a church friend still in Lumberton, NC with the Cajun Navy (who himself was affected by the 2016 flooding) it’s a site that is all too familiar.

Emerge Ministries was one of the teams who came to Denham Springs and helped serve our community after the Great Flood of 2016. Many of them were affected themselves, but continue to serve their community.

Christ’s Community Church of Denham Springs will be filtering supplies through them and returning the love by dispatching cooking teams, a shower trailer, and a laundry trailer (that GMFS helped furnish) as early as this weekend or the beginning of next week. Road closures keep pushing that date back.
