It will be a little difficult to express in words the over the top experience I just had with Doug, Caden, Shelby and the rest of the GMFS team.  It was such an over the top experience. If I could give them 10 stars I would, 5 stars just doesn’t reflect the hometown Personal service we received. From the moment of pre approval to closing, I felt like we were their only customer. Caden was instrumental in putting options on the table, his skill set is an A+ in my book with Shelby’s document gathering and assembling of the package to Doug jumping in and getting some problem documents pushed through, they make an amazing team. I just wanted to say that I had a wonderful experience working with GMFS for my mortgage and house buying process. I cannot rave enough on how much Caden specifically helped me along in this process of buying my first home. I had one question regarding why I had to pay off a credit card that had no balance? At closing, I got a check addressed to that creditor to pay off $76 and I felt that could have been redone or reprocessed by the underwriter and not calculated in my loan/closing cost disclosure.

I would like to express what a great job Ryan Larussa did for my wife and myself. I was retiring and we were looking to move to the Baton Rouge Area. We found a house that we liked and made a call to the listing real estate agent of the property. The house had just been put under contact the day before we called. The next day the real estate agent called us back and wanted to know if we were still interested in the house, the buyer had backed out of the deal. I told her yes. Since we live in Lake Charles and I could not leave work to go to Baton Rouge, we called my daughter in law to go look at the house for us. She FaceTimed my wife while she was looking at the house. My wife and I decided to make an offer on the house without physically seeing the house. The real estate agent asked if we were pre-approved to buy a house. I told her that we were not. I am a little late sharing this but 3 weeks ago I purchased my first home! I put three offers on three other houses which all went to the highest bidder, but Ryan was there to answer all my questions and educate me on the process and what to expect.

I ended up signing a purchase agreement on a brand-new home and with DSLD’s incentives, on paper, it appeared to make more sense financially to utilize their lender and title company and Ryan was very understanding.

Fast forward to two months after signing my purchase agreement, I found out days before closing that DSLD’s lending company completely dropped the ball. They did not process my paperwork or submit my application to the underwriters until 2 days before I was scheduled to close! Even though my purchase agreement had been signed two months prior and my DSLD lender had been assuring me that they were on schedule to close on 5/14. I immediately called Ryan to see if there was anything he could do, and thankfully there was! I fired DSLD’s mortgage company and moved forward with Ryan at GMFS. Ryan’s goal was to have me in my home by the end of the month and from start to finish he had me in my house in less than 2 weeks! We closed on my home on 5/25 6 days earlier than promised! His team was extremely professional and made the entire process effortless. The difference in communication and professionalism was unbelievable. This is the second time I have used this company. Both times they were very helpful in answering all of my questions. I had emailed them with questions about the tons of junk mail and emails I was receiving about refinancing. I did not think that I was even qualified for a refinance on my home. Ryan, my lender, was pretty awesome. He was actually the 2nd lender I went to in a short period of time. The 1st lender, spoke very fast, was very impatient, and NEVER returned my phone calls. He was patient with me and seemed to have a sixth sense, knowing when I didn’t understand something, and repeated himself in a way I did understand. If I called and he didn’t answer, he ALWAYS returned my phone calls. If I had a question, he answered it. From start to finish, took less than a month to close on a refi.  Only took a grand total of an hour of my time to save almost two percent off my mortgage interest rate, not to mention skipping a month on my mortgage payments.  Closing cost was negative, meaning they paid me!!!
