Michelle Acosta is a Loan Officer and Loan Officer Assistant with the Stephanie Machado Barto Team at GMFS Mortgage. Since beginning her mortgage career in October 2014, Michelle has spent her entire career with GMFS, helping homebuyers navigate the mortgage process with confidence and personalized guidance.

Michelle works with borrowers across all loan programs and is passionate about helping clients achieve the dream of homeownership. Whether assisting a first-time homebuyer, a growing family searching for more space, or homeowners preparing for their next chapter, she believes every client deserves a mortgage solution tailored to their unique goals. Her approach centers on listening first, understanding each client’s needs, and providing personalized recommendations because, as she says, mortgages are never one-size-fits-all.

What sets Michelle apart is her commitment to building genuine relationships in an increasingly digital world. She believes that being available, communicating consistently, and taking the time to truly understand each borrower creates a better experience and leads to more successful outcomes.

Over nearly 12 years in the mortgage industry, Michelle has navigated both the busiest markets and some of the industry’s most challenging times. She is especially proud of building a successful career while remaining dedicated to her family and providing exceptional service to every client she serves.

Before entering the mortgage industry, Michelle earned her education in Medical Allied Health. She made the transition to mortgage lending in 2014 and has never looked back.

Originally from St. Bernard Parish, Michelle enjoys traveling and spending quality time with her family outside of work. She has been married for more than 22 years and is the proud mother of three amazing daughters. She is also an active volunteer in her children’s local public schools, giving back to the community that means so much to her.
